Growing up in a musician household, music has always been a part of my life since I can remember. I was always playing something, starting with piano (forced, just like every Asian child), trumpet, drums, and eventually guitar. I took two semesters of guitar lessons in high school, but honestly, I wasn't that into it at the time. Then everything changed in college when I bought an electric guitar and my roommate introduced me to Metallica. That moment sparked something in me and I became obsessed. From that point on, I never stopped playing, constantly learning songs here and there.
Along the way, I also learned licks and phrases from every source I could think of, like magazines, books, and those insane "Betcha Can't Play This" videos. Over time, I began noticing something incredible: songs became easier to learn as I started recognizing patterns and techniques automatically. Now, I've combined my personal learning experience with my formal education in psychology and education to develop Berry Building Blocks. The philosophy is to put music first and incorporate science-backed methods to help you learn faster and more effectively. My mission is to help others experience that euphoric fulfillment and joy that comes from playing music they love.
If this approach speaks to you, join B3 Guitar Method today and start stacking your guitar skills one block at a time.
